1. Background

The Renewables Grid Initiative (RGI) is a unique collaboration of NGOs and TSOs from across Europe engaging in an ‘energy transition ecosystem-of-actors’. We promote fair, transparent, sustainable grid development to enable the growth of renewables to achieve full decarbonisation in line with the Paris Agreement.

RGI receives funding from different sources, including project grants, operating grants, and membership fees. We are seeking up to two individuals to work as project and fundraising managers to support our project portfolio and elevate our fundraising strategy.

2. Specific tasks

The Project/Fundraising Managers shall specifically work on the following tasks:

  • Coordinate activities of at least one of our projects
  • Contribute and further develop RGI’s current approach/strategy to fundraising
  • Coordinate the writing of new proposals internally and with potential consortium partners
  • Comply with the reporting requirements of existing grants
  • Coordinate the writing, monitoring, and reporting related to the RGI Business Plan
  • Provide ad hoc support to RGI projects depending on previous experience and interest


Candidates should have:

Proven working experience of at least three years, ideally with an international component Experience with project management, fundraising for international and EU programmes, e.g., Horizon 2020/Horizon Europe and LIFE) and private funders (foundations); a relevant network is an asset

  • Background knowledge on European energy and climate policies and discourses
  • An ability to work independently and efficiently structure their own work; they should also be a respected discussion partner for potential funders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; at least one further European language highly desirable
  • An ability to learn fast and quickly understand new issues

The starting date for this post is as soon as possible. The contract will run for initially two years with the option of prolonging it. Our offices are based in Berlin.
