Advisor (m/f/d) – International Climate Policy and Climate Finance

We are looking for an enthusiastic new colleague for a position as Advisor Intenational Climate Policy and Climate Finance. The tasks comprise: 

• Project management, overseeing of project processes, communication with clients and coordination of stakeholder engagement processes

• Elaboration of funding proposals for international donors and climate funds (Green Climate Fund (GCF), Global Environment Facility (GEF), NAMA Facility, etc.)

• Support of GCF Readiness and Support Programme Activities

• Advising ministries and implementing / donor organizations on international climate policy and climate finance

• Support and processing of various advisory / research / analytical activities on aspects of international climate policy and finance

• Working in partnership with our international clients, including on-site assignments (mainly in the global South)

• Various activities in management and contribution to projects, acquisition processes and business development

• Completed studies (master's or similar) with a background in engineering, environmental sciences, economics, political sciences or similar

• At least 5 years of professional experience in a similar field, as advisor with project responsibility and experience in development cooperation

• Practical experience with GCF (Readiness and Support Programme, Funding Proposals), GEF (project proposal development) or NAMA Facility (NSP development)

• Knowledge of international climate policy / finance

• Robust understanding of the determination, calculation and evaluation of GHG emission reductions in various sectors is an advantage

• Experiences in climate-relevant sectors, especially in the energy, transport and / or industrial sector are an advantage

• Independent and result-oriented working style as well as strong communication skills and ability to lead project teams

• Careful way of working and very good knowledge of the fundamentals of scientific work

• Willingness to travel internationally

• Proficient German and English skills, other languages are of advantage, especially Spanish

• Very good knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), advanced Excel knowledge is an advantage
