Commercial Advisor – Biogas

The Trade Council promotes Danish commercial interests in Germany and builds strategic long-term partnerships with Danish companies in relevant sub-sectors. The Commercial Advisor will be part of the Energy, Environment and Industry (EEI) team based in Berlin or Hamburg. The EEI team consists of dedicated employees and is a dynamic workplace with plenty of opportunity for competence development.

The position

As Commercial Advisor, you will manage our activities within biogas. The main responsibility lies in supporting the Danish Biogas Alliance and developing business opportunities in the German market. The alliances consists of different Danish companies with expertise and technologies that stand for the Danish strongholds within biogas. We are working closely with domestic German stakeholders to foster exchange of experience, networking and commercial opportunities.  

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Engage with biogas plant owners and operators in Germany to identify potential collaboration possibilities and export opportunities for Danish biogas companies.
• Organize and execute technical workshops, delegations, and other events to and from Denmark for potential German customers.
• Identify relevant German stakeholders and build a strong network with German energy/biogas/agricultural stakeholders at national, regional and local level.
• Research, develop, and present market entry strategies and market intelligence to Danish companies.
• Expand our local network in Germany and engage in discussions on potential Danish-German collaboration.

Requirements:

• Fluency in German. Advanced level in English and/or Danish is an advantage.
• At least 3-5 years relevant working experience within consulting or business development.
• Good understanding of renewable energy trends in the German biogas ecosystem is an advantage.
• Flair for communication and a talent for building and developing lasting relations.
• Network within the German renewable energy/agricultural sector is an advantage.
• Strategic, commercial and innovative mind-set.
• An ability to work independently and able to handle multiple tasks as well as work under time pressure.
• Self-driven, good interpersonal skills and a result-oriented approach.
• Willingness to travel within Germany and occasionally to Denmark.

Expected start of work:

As soon as possible in Berlin or Hamburg.

The position is preferably to be filled by January 1, 2024 but is dependent upon Security Clearance by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.
