The Company:

Svagos Technik is a technology venture based in Santa Clara, California that is working on break through methods for Semiconductor substrate manufacturing. It is backed by a well-known investor in the global renewable energy sector. Svagos intends to develop Silicon Carbide (SiC) substrate wafers and expand its Silicon Carbide development operations into High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) to enter the market via IPO in the long term. Technical Director is responsible for development of Epitaxial processes and reactor technologies for Silicon Carbide (SiC) substrate wafer manufacturing. Such development will include responsibilities for process and equipment design for Silicon Carbide Epi, lead the technical evaluation, and startup of commercially available SiC Epi platforms, lead the startup and operations of reactors and metrology tools. Technical Director is also responsible for planning and executing on experiments, data analyses and report generation, executing safety aspects in operation and handling of Semiconductor gas systems and chemicals. Technical Director will additionally support in the transfer of technology to manufacturing. Candidate would be able to grow professionally within the development or manufacturing organizations over the years.



The candidate should have:

  • MS or Ph.D. degree in Materials, Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 4 to 10 years of work experience in guiding research program via experimentation and/or modeling for Semiconductor process development and lead a team of engineers and/or technicians
  • Hands on experience with Silicon Carbide processes and tools such as Epitaxial deposition, SiC wafer grinding, polishing, cleaning, Semiconductor feed gas systems, measurements and SiC metrology tools
  • In-depth understanding of Silicon Carbide wafer defects and its effects on device performance
  • Experience in Semiconductor fab environment specifically in operating reactors, wet benches, clean room methodologies, analyzing data and troubleshooting equipment start-ups/maintenance

Candidate should be able to take directions from manager and execute to aggressive work timelines. After minimal supervision, candidate should be able to work on his / her own to keep projects moving. Candidate must be able to work in a team environment.

Additional Skills:

  • Understanding of Silicon Carbide device physics, experience in device manufacturing can be considered in-lieu of some of the above requirements
  • Experience in SiC device applications related to high voltage is highly desirable
  • Experience in SiC boule manufacturing and wafer slicing technologies is a plus
  • Knowledge of process control and control systems is desirable
