Microenergy International in collaboration with Microenergy Systems (MES) Association (TU Berlin) offers a 6 month internship position as research assistant to support the consulting team in managing the Mikroklima West Africa (WA) Project - which investigates the role of microfinance in increasing resilience to climate change in WA.
This is a great opportunity to get first-hand experience in project management, fundraising, and applied research methods, as well as to acquire new knowledge about microfinance and renewable energy programmes. The intern will work in a young and dynamic environment, with an international and multidisciplinary team.
The research assistant will be involved in the following activities:
Assisting Mikroklima WA project team with daily administration functions, including but not limited to budgeting, reporting, and communication with partners;
Desk support to the project team, including but not limited to research, and field missions' backstopping;
Development of workshops content, format and material;
Fundraising and new research project development (e.g. drafting proposals for tenders).
Student enrolled in a University in Berlin, who needs to do an obligatory internship as part of his/her studies
Educational background in business administration, political sciences, development economics, climate change or environmental sciences
Fluency in German and professional working knowledge of English (written and verbal) are required; proficiency in French is an asset
Familiarity with administrative procedures of the Technical University in Berlin is an asset
Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel);
Demonstrated interest and/or experience in administration
Team player with proactive attitude to tasks and responsibilities
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast moving environment with changing needs and tight deadlines
