We are looking for an Electrical Engineer with experience in grid management and grid compliance for the connection of wind power plants to the Electrical Grid. You will be a part of the Grid Management & Studies team with colleagues located in various locations across Europe with the location for this position being based in Hamburg.
The department is the technical know-how centre within Business Area Wind, setting the standards and guidelines, and providing ad-hoc expert support to our projects, both through the development and implementation face as well as the generation department.
Description of the position
As part of the Grid Management & Studies team you will among others work in the following areas to support and manage the grid compliance of solar and wind power plants:
- Be the technical coordinator in project meetings with the TSOs
- Coordinate the project compliance activities within the projects
- Plan and perform grid compliance tests
- Technical support to development, procurement and operation team
- Participate in negotiation with TSO’s and suppliers
- Review, comment and accept electrical studies
- Support for technical evaluation of the electrical equipment within wind power plants
- Participate in working groups and consultations of new and updates of grid codes
- Development of standards & guidelines for scope of team
You are experienced in coordinating grid compliance for wind power plant connection and feels comfortable in representing the projects towards external parties. You have the following qualifications:
- B.Sc, M.Sc or PhD in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in grid connection activities
- Minimum 3 years’ experience within wind turbines and wind power plants
- Good English language skills
You have a high degree of self motivation and you often bring new ideas and approaches in work-related issues that can be transformed into action and give results. You possess good interpersonal skills works well with other people, and you have an innovative mindset. You are result-oriented and you organize and prioritize your work effectively meeting required deadlines.
The location of this position is Hamburg, Germany. Regular business trips are required.
